The Penny Loafers

Penn's co-ed modern rock/pop/indie a cappella group

the loafers went to china for 8 days (12/27/06-1/3/07), and it was an incredible experience!

we performed to sold-out crowds of 2200+ people two nights in a row (at the greenpeace international charity concert and at the beijing university annual new year's gala), gave a private performance and percussion masterclass at the midi school of music, and met chinese celebrities and tv hosts. we also got to experience a taste of the country's culture and history at the forbidden city, great wall, temple of heaven, and tiananmen square.

each day was packed with activities such as shopping at the famous wang fu jing and silk street. and what a cappella trip is complete without a visit to the studio and a recording session with a chinese rock band to lay down the vocals for the greenpeace anthem.

we truly couldn't have asked for a better winter break, and are so grateful to everyone who made this trip possible!
